Welcome to the Bristol Short Story Prize. Please read these Terms and Conditions. If you are entering the Bristol Short Story Prize please read the rules carefully before submitting an entry or entries to the competition. Again, if you have any questions about these rules then please don’t hesitate to contact us. We confirm receipt of online entry/entries to the Bristol Short Story Prize with an email.
We do not charge for the postage and delivery of any of the books we sell from our website to UK addresses, delivery and postage is free of charge to all UK addresses. We charge £3.00 for postage and delivery of books we sell from our website to addresses outside the UK in Europe and £5.00 for postage and delivery of books we sell from our website to addresses outside Europe. We use Royal Mail to deliver our books. UK customers should, usually, receive their book orders within 3 to 4 working days after placing an order. Non-UK customers should, usually, receive their orders within 10 working days after placing an order. If you experience any problem with an order you have placed then please do not hesitate to contact us. If you have not received your order within 21 working days of placing it, please contact us.
You may cancel any order you have placed with us within 5 working days after you have received the order, and return the book(s) within 30 days. Please repack the book(s) not wanted and send them together with the invoice number and reason for returning to the address found on the invoice- Bristol Short Story Prize, Unit 5.16, Paintworks, Bath Road, Bristol BS4 3EH.
All goods must be in resaleable condition. Returns by post are made at your own risk and at your own expense. Returns will be credited to you within 30 days after the date of cancellation.
We will exchange or refund any book that you are not satisfied with or any book that is damaged or incorrectly sent, within 30 days from your receipt of your order. Please contact us within 48 hours of receipt of your order so that we can deal with the problem in an efficient manner. We aim to reply within 48 hours. We will request a proof of purchase from you. This does not affect your statutory rights. We will refund the cost of postage to any customer who has to send back a faulty or damaged book(s) or who returns a book(s) they did not order.
Any entrant wishing to withdraw a story from the 2017 Bristol Short Story Prize before the closing date of midnight (BST) May 3rd 2017 will receive a full refund, please contact us. We will not be able to refund any withdrawn stories after the closing date of midnight (BST) May 3rd 2017.
Bristol Short Story Prize is fully committed to protecting your privacy and personal information and takes website security very seriously. All correspondence, whether by email, phone or post, is treated in the strictest confidence and is not shared or passed on to any third party.
We do not store any credit/debit card or other financial information. When processing an entry fee or paying for an anthology order you are transferred to the Paypal website. All payments are made on the Paypal website. Paypal have secure payment processes for credit/debit card transactions and for those with Paypal accounts. Paypal ask for your credit/debit card details (card type, card number, start date, expiry date, last 3 digits on the signature strip, cardholder name and contact details ) to process your entry fee and to process the purchase of one or more of our anthologies. We do not see these credit/debit card details.
We store the contact information ( name, address, email address, daytime phone number and evening phone number) of those who enter our annual competition securely. We only use this information to contact you about the competition and will not use this information to contact you about anything else. This contact information is held for a maximum of 12 months and then deleted. We do not pass it on or share it with a third party or use it for any purpose other than to contact you about the competition you have entered. If you wish to change the information you have given us after entering the competition then please do not hesitate to contact us.
We, also, collect your contact information (name, address, email address, daytime phone number and evening phone number) if you order one or more of our anthologies so that we may deliver your order in an efficient manner and so that we may contact you should a problem occur. This information is not stored on this website and goes straight through to Paypal. We do not use it for any other purpose other than fulfilling your order and we do not pass it on to or share it with any third party.
