If you are entering the Bristol Short Story Prize please read the rules carefully before submitting an entry or entries to the competition. Again, if you have any questions about these rules then please don’t hesitate to contact us by emailing us at enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk. We confirm receipt of online entry/entries to the Bristol Short Story Prize with an email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please let us know by email (enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk) and we will confirm receipt of your entry or entries.
We collect and process personal information (name, address, phone number, email address) from you when you enter the Bristol Short Story Prize. We do this so that we can contact you if you are selected for the competition shortlist. We also collect and process contact information (name, address, phone number, email address) when you enter the Bristol Short Story Prize so that we can contact you if there is a problem with you uploaded story – if it cannot be accessed, if the submitted file cannot be opened or if the story is over the maximum word count, for example.
We do not collect or store any credit/debit card or other financial information. When entering the Bristol Short Story Prize, website users’ credit/debit card information and Paypal account information are processed by Paypal for the purposes of entry fee payment. All payments are processed in this way. Paypal have secure payment processes for credit/debit card transactions and for those with Paypal accounts. Paypal ask for your credit/debit card details (card number, expiry date, last 3 digits on the signature strip, cardholder name and contact details ) to process entry fee payment via credit/debit card. Any entrant wishing to withdraw a story from the 2023 Bristol Short Story Prize before the closing date of midnight (BST) April 26th 2023 will receive a full refund, please contact us by emailing us at enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk. We will not be able to refund any withdrawn stories after the closing date of midnight (BST) April 26th 2023.
We aim to acknowledge all anthology orders within 24 hours of receiving the order, and aim to send off all anthology orders within 48 hours of receiving the order 36 hours if the order is placed at the weekend. There is no delivery charge for orders to a UK address, delivery charges outside the UK are displayed at the checkout. Please allow up to five days for a UK order to arrive and up to two weeks for an order outside the UK. If you need to chase up an anthology order, please email us at: enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk

At the moment that we inform you that the goods are available (and not before), a contract will be made between you and Bristol Short Story Prize. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason.
Any entrant wishing to withdraw a story from the 2023 Bristol Short Story Prize before the closing date of midnight (BST) April 26th 2023 will receive a full refund, please contact us by emailing us at enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk. We will not be able to refund any withdrawn stories after the closing date of midnight (BST) April 26th 2023. Any refunds for withdrawn entries will be refunded to the credit/debit card used in the original transaction via Paypal.
Anthologies purchased via the Bristol Short Story Prize website can be refunded up to one month after purchase. To do this, please e-mail us at enquiries@bristolprize.co.uk. We will credit you with the cost of the refunded or cancelled order including delivery charges within 30 days of the date of your cancellation. Please return the unwanted anthology/anthologies within 30 days of cancellation.The delivery/postage costs of returning a book to us will be at your own expense. This does not include faulty or damaged goods, or goods sent in error. In the case of faulty/damaged goods Bristol Short Story Prize will cover the cost of returning the faulty/damaged anthology or anthologies. If the anthology/anthologies were sent to you in error then Bristol Short Story Prize will also cover your postage costs. Refunds for anthology orders will be refunded to the credit/debit card used in the original transaction via Paypal.
Our website may contain links so that users can easily visit other websites of interest. Bristol Short Story Prize does not have any control over linked websites, therefore Bristol Short Story Prize cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information users provide whilst visiting linked sites.
These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
