Marli Roode Debut Novel Published

July 2, 2013   Joe Melia

Many congratulations to Marli Roode whose debut novel Call it Dog has recently been published by the brilliant Atlantic Books.

Marli has been receiving great reviews for the book. M.J.Hyland calls it “A superbly written, intelligent, and powerful debut. Marli Roode is the real thing, and she’s here to stay.” Christopher Hope says: “Marli Roode takes a roller-coaster ride through the new South Africa, where the old demons don’t retire, they merely reload, and nothing is quite what it seems. Call It Dog calls it like it is – a blistering debut.”

You can watch a short video of Marli talking about Call it Dog here.

Marli was shortlisted for both the 2009 and 2010 Bristol Short Story Prize. Her stories, Second Thoughts and Spring Tide, can be found in our Volume 2 and Volume 3 anthologies.
