September 28, 2009   Joe Melia

Craig Hawes has followed up his appearance in our 2009 shortlist and publication  in the Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology Volume 2 by winning third prize in Yeovil Literary Prize’s short story competition. The story, ’Aim High Olongapo’, is once again set in Dubai and judge Rachel Billington commended it for its ‘purposeful’ prose and for Craig’s skill in writing in the present tense which, she says, is ‘always difficult’. Many congratulations to Craig.
