Angela Readman Wins Costa Short Story Award

January 29, 2014   Joe Melia

angela readmanGreat news for Angela Readman; she was announced as the winner of the prestigious Costa Short Story Award last night. Angela was shortlisted for the same competition last year but this year her story, The Keeper of the Jackalopes, won the public vote and was awarded the £3,500 first prize.

Angela’s debut short story collection, Don’t Try This at Home, will be published by the celebrated publisher And Other Stories in May 2015. We look forward to that and wish Angela many congratulations on what is a great triumph.

Incidentally, this means that the winners of the first 2 Costa Short Story Award winners, Avril Joy and Angela, were both shortlisted for the 2012 Bristol Short Story Prize and published in our Volume 5 anthology; clearly writers to keep an eye on.
