June 6, 2012   Joe Melia

We’re thrilled to reveal the 20 stories that have been selected for this year’s Bristol Short Story Prize shortlist . The 20 stories will all be published in this year’s anthology. The winner will be announced and the anthology launched at our annual awards ceremony on July 14th at Arnolfini. It will be the final event of our ShortStoryVille festival. We’re really excited to be publishing such a great collection of stories – many congratulations to all those who have made the shortlist.

Chair of the judging panel, Ali Reynolds, says: “These shortlisted stories dazzle and enthral. The quality of writing showcased by these emerging yet highly accomplished writers has made it such a privilege to judge this fantastic prize. The humour, pathos and depth displayed amongst the many gems here leave no doubt that these are talents you’ll want to watch.”
