Elizabeth Jane was awarded first prize in the 2009 Bristol Short Story Prize for her very moving account of a Second World War air raid on Swansea, Beyond the Blackout Curtain. Elizabeth lives in Melbourne, Australia and her prizes were collected on her behalf by her cousin Joyce Herbert. The prizes were presented by the Lord Mayor of Bristol and the eminent author and critic Professor John Carey at the awards ceremony hosted by Waterstone’s.
