New BSSP website images

Each year we invite two Photography students from Filton College in Bristol to create header images for our website. This year's images have been created by Jess Stephens and Tom Farrant whose commitment and enthusiasm for the project was really refreshing. We are very grateful to them and, also, to course leader Nick Bright for his very valuable support and input with this initiative.

Jess Stephens is a photographer from Thornbury, near Bristol, currently working towards a BA at UWE. Her passions as a photographer lie within the natural world with its energy and magic, wildness and spirit. She enjoys experimenting with her work- using pinhole and various darkroom techniques. She is fascinated by time and movement, and finds photography unique in its ability to record periods of time and motion in one image. Jess, also, has a strong interest in events and portrait photography.

Tom Farrant is a photgrapher/artist/designer based in central Bristol, currently studying and pursuing various projects. At the moment, after creating 'Left', a book of abstract night photography around central Bristol, he is experimenting with working at night with 5x4 large format, aiming to exhibit in the near future. Tom is also interested in photographing alternative fashion and alternative music, and is open to commission.
