Each year we invite cover design submissions from the final year Illustration students at the University of West of England in Bristol. From these we select our annual Anthology cover. We are extremely fortunate to be able to collaborate with such an inspirational source of ideas, originality and creativity. Many thanks to lecturers Chris Hill and Jonathan Ward for their continued help and enthusiasm and to all the illustrators for their fantastic covers.
Choosing this year’s Vol. 2 cover from the designs below was a really difficult task but, also, a very enjoyable one.
Winner- Sam Bevington

Sam is originally from London and has returned there since graduating.

Highly Commended- Ashley Le Quere
Ashley enjoys working with her dip pen and using water colours to take the viewer to imagery worlds. She takes her inspiration from observational drawings. In the past year she has taken a great interest in the recession and had been documenting places and buildings that are disappearing and how the world we know is changing. Madalena is from Lisbon, Portugal. Her main interest is in picture books for children. She likes to write and illustrate her own stories, which tend to have a magical feel to them. She is also interested in graphic novels, book and CD covers, and editorial work. She likes to experiment with different mediums and find the right ones for each different book or piece of artwork. Lately, Madalena has been enjoying watercolors and watercolor pencils. Madalena blogs at www.madalenamoniz.blogspot.com
