Ebook of BSSP Anthology Vol 2 now available

Written by joe melia Tuesday, 16 February 2010

We are delighted to announce that our latest anthology (above left) is now available as an ebook, on sale at Smashwords.com and Amazon.com. It will be on sale at more sites very soon. It is $3.99 (about £2.70) at Smashwords and $8.11 (about £4.80) at Amazon. Smashwords sell ebooks in 9 different formats (including standard pdf format) suitable for the majority of ereaders, smartphones and computers. Amazon sell Kindle versions for their own Kindle ereaders. You don't have to own a Kindle reader, however, to read the Amazon/Kindle version as the software is available for downloading to P.C.s (personal computers, Mac version coming soon, apparently) for free directly from Amazon.com. Please click here for details.

We plan to publish our first anthology as an ebook in the early summer and this year's anthology will be simultaneously published as a paperback and ebook on July 17th, when it is launched after our awards ceremony.

Ebook publication enables us to bring the writers and stories we publish to a much wider readership and to those who prefer a digital reading experience. We will be paying royalties to the authors for ebook sales, as we do for sales of the print versions of our anthologies.

Many thanks to Joshua Tallent for his help with this exciting development.

100 Stories For Haiti Book Project

Written by joe melia Friday, 12 February 2010

100 Stories for Haiti is a collection of short stories featuring 100 writers who have donated a story for the anthology. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Red Cross and their relief effort in Haiti.

Nick Harkaway, author of the best-selling novel The Gone Away World, wrote a story for the book and penned the introduction.

The anthology will be published on March 4th. It will be published as an ebook on Smashwords.com, and as a paperback by Bridge House Publishing.

Amoungst the 100 writers whose stories will feature in the anthology are Joanne Fox, shortlisted last year for the Bristol Short Story Prize, Joel Willans shortlisted for the BSSP in 2008, and a member of this year's judging panel, Tania Hershman.  Biographies of the authors featured can be found here.

Best of luck to all involved with the project.
